Award-winning catering group brings local flavour to southern Alberta’s largest trade and convention centre
Lethbridge, Alta. – Lethbridge & District Exhibition (LDE) has announced Lethbridge-based LA Chefs as the official food and beverage provider for the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre and other LDE initiatives and events. LA Chefs was chosen as the exclusive provider following a competitive City of Lethbridge-approved Request for Proposal (RFP) process that was open to all potential food and beverage providers from across the province and beyond.
As part of the new agreement, LA Chefs becomes the exclusive caterer for all events held in the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre and all of LDE’s internally-produced events, including Whoop-Up Days, the Lethbridge & District Pro Rodeo, Ag Expo, the Agri-Food Innovation Expo, and Glow Lethbridge. LA Chefs will also operate the new concession in the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre, which opened to the public in August.
“Through the selection process, LA Chefs’ professionalism, creativity and commitment to highlighting the local food community stood out,” says Kim Gallucci, LDE interim CEO. “When people book their events at the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre, they can be assured they will receive the finest food and service our city has to offer. We’re thrilled to work with LA Chefs and are excited for the possibilities this partnership will present.”
LA Chefs and its parent company, Sky + Table Event Group, have spent more than 20 years building a reputation as one of Lethbridge’s premier catering companies. LA Chefs is the exclusive caterer for the Coast Lethbridge Hotel & Conference Centre, and are the exclusive caterer and venue manager of both the Norland Historic Estate and Countryside Barns. The group has earned countless business awards, and most recently, owner and CEO Marci Stickel was named female entrepreneur of the year by the Alberta Chamber of Commerce in July.
“Our entire team is truly honored, excited and most importantly - ready to take on this new challenge!” says Marci Stickel, Sky + Table Event Group owner and CEO. “We look forward to collaborating with the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre team at this world class venue, providing excellence in event experiences for our community, and attracting events from across the country and around the world.”
The 268,000 square foot Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre is southern Alberta’s largest trade and convention centre. Opened in August 2023, the venue hosts more than 350 conferences, trade shows, galas and events annually. Located in the heart of Alberta’s Premier Food Corridor, the venue is a showcase for the region’s food producers and helps tell the local food story. Learn more at agrifoodhub.ca.
