Lethbridge & District Exhibition Announces 2022 Signature Events and New Lotteries Program

Lethbridge, AB – Lethbridge & District Exhibition is a community hub and marquee destination where Southern Alberta gathers to create memorable experiences and meet in the heart of Canada’s Premier Food Corridor. Lethbridge & District Exhibition proudly announces its 2022 Signature Events line-up.

2022 will celebrate the 125th anniversary of Lethbridge & District Exhibition, and will be the most historic and exciting year to date, shaping the next 125 years for generations to come. Lethbridge & District Exhibition is well-positioned to become a global leader and agricultural advocate as a major event and tourism destination.

The 2022 Signature Event line-up will deliver re-imagined event experiences to the community and the 400,000 guests that gather on the campus grounds each year.

From March 2-4, Ag-Expo presented by Farm Credit Canada and the North American Seed Fair presented by FortisAlberta will invite the farming industry and regional community of growers, producers and processers to trade and invest in Lethbridge.

Attendees can expect to wander through Machinery Row, connect directly with innovative exhibitors and bite into our signature culinary offerings while exploring one of the oldest seed fair competitions in Western Canada. This year’s event will feature the Agricultural Financial Services Corporation Speaker Series with topics covering agriculture, innovation and well-being.

The Agricultural Scholarship Dinner presented by the Rotary Club of Lethbridge East & Lethbridge & District Exhibition will also take place during Ag-Expo. The dinner will feature special guest speaker Todd Orman, recognized as Canadian Western Agribition’s Top 50 in Canadian Agriculture, followed by 50/50 Raffle and Silent Auction.

The Southern Alberta Home & Garden Show presented by Lethbridge & District Exhibition & BILD Lethbridge Region will take place from March 30-April 2. This year’s program will feature keynote speaker and author Lyndon Penner-a traveler, environmentalist and backyard expert-and Elder William Singer III who will guide attendees through the use of Indigenous plants in our region.

This event presents opportunity to support locally-grown businesses like Charmed Playhouses, who launched their business at this very show. One of the unique elements of this year’s Home and Garden show is the WHO BILDS IT BEST Competition which will have industry professionals and talented students competing to showcase their building skills.

The Lethbridge Farmer’s Market is an iconic staple in Southern Alberta that welcomes over 54,000 guests each season. Attendees can expect to meet the producers and growers who farm Alberta’s land while sampling unique food from our culinary team. The Saturday Market will run from May 7 – October 22 on our campus. The downtown Wednesday Market will return to the downtown core in partnership with the Downtown Lethbridge BRZ annual Farmer’s Market. Guests are encouraged to join the market, support local and sample Southern Alberta on their plates.

From July 23-24, Lethbridge & District Exhibition will kick off summer in partnerships with Alberta Pork and Hickory Street for the Smoke, Wind & Fire master series barbeque competition. The two-day festival recognizes the skills and expertise of grill masters across the province right here in Canada’s Premier Food Corridor.

This year’s Whoop-Up Days will be an experience that can’t be missed as we celebrate our rich history from August 23-27 at Whoop-Up Days 2022. The sights, sounds, smell and taste will all commemorate the 125 years of our history reflecting on our impact to the community, and the future 125-year legacy we are currently erecting in our backyard. The re-imagined fair experience will feature something for everyone.

This summer’s fair will include the return of professional rodeo to celebrate the organization’s rich Southern Alberta roots. The 2022 fair will launch a brand-new art show to showcases Southern Alberta’s vibrant arts community, our local artists, and the creatives who capture what it means to live, work and play in Southern Alberta. The art experience will allow local artists to sell their artwork while attendees shop and stop by the wine bar. Attendees will be invited to wander through the fair and find entertainment from Twiggy the Waterskiing Squirrel, The Strolling Piano, Extreme Dogs, The Kids Pedal Tractor Pull Show and a Family Show. Lethbridge & District Exhibition looks forward to unveiling a brand-new culinary experience with fair food that will that will take your taste buds on a rollercoaster of local flavours.

Finally, and most exciting of all, Lethbridge & District Exhibition is proud to announce the launch of an entirely new program. The Lethbridge & District Exhibition Lotteries Program will launch ahead of our Signature Event season as we celebrate 125 years in the community. The lotteries program will provide a guaranteed prize-incentivized lottery pool of $125,000 to generate participation and earnings from Albertans across the province for the chance to win BIG in our 125th year. This new program will continue to grow throughout the year with new incentives and opportunities to win.
