Southern Alberta’s premier 50/50 lottery gives back to the community

Lethbridge, Alta. – Lethbridge & District Exhibition’s Lotteries program is once again giving back to the community, announcing the YWCA Lethbridge & District as its community partner for its 2023 50/50 Lottery campaign.

In its second year, the Lethbridge & District Exhibition 50/50 Lottery celebrates Lethbridge & District Exhibition’s long history of community involvement. With each ticket purchased, not only do community members have the opportunity to win big, they are also giving back, with proceeds benefiting both YWCA Lethbridge & District, and Lethbridge & District Exhibition to support community initiatives.

“We are thrilled to have YWCA Lethbridge & District as our community partner for our 50/50 Lottery,” says Mike Warkentin, Lethbridge & District Exhibition CEO. “Lethbridge & District Exhibition only exists because of the support we’ve received from Southern Albertans, and we have an obligation to give back to the community that supports us. One of our organizational priorities is corporate social responsibility, and with the incredible work the YWCA Lethbridge & District does to benefit women and girls in Lethbridge, it was a natural fit for us to support the work they do.”

YWCA Lethbridge & District has been a staple in Southern Alberta for more than 60 years, continuing to grow and respond to the needs of the community. Housing, homelessness, poverty, domestic and sexual violence, volunteerism, youth empowerment, leadership and a place to belong are all addressed at YWCA.

“We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to partner with Lethbridge & District Exhibition for the 2023 50/50 Lottery,” says Jill Young, YWCA Lethbridge & District CEO. “The proceeds will go directly to benefit our programs that provide services to vulnerable and at-risk Albertans. The need for our services continues to grow year-over-year and this lottery will allow us to continue to support those individuals to achieve their potential, strengthening the bonds of our community.”

In 2022, Lethbridge & District Exhibition celebrated 125 years by launching Lethbridge & District Exhibition Lotteries. Lethbridge & District Exhibition Lotteries includes the Lethbridge & District 50/50 Lottery which launched in March at Ag Expo, and has a jackpot of more than $12,000 as of the end of July.
