CANNABIS
As the legalization of cannabis is new all of us, we have been closely monitoring other Canadian fairs and summer music festivals both for their regulations on cannabis and how such regulations were abided by and enforced during the events. After consulting with these industry partners, the Alberta Gaming Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC) and the Lethbridge Police Service we have developed the policy below which aims to ensure the safety, security, comfort and enjoyment of all of our guests.
CANNABIS POLICY
The use, sale, growth and preparation of cannabis (indoors or outdoors) on Exhibition Park owned, operated or leased property is prohibited except as explicitly authorised by this policy.
The possession of cannabis products or paraphernalia is permitted on Exhibition Park owned, operated or leased property in accordance with Lethbridge municipal and Alberta provincial by-laws and legislation.
Cannabis consumption is only permitted:
At the Whoop-Up Days StagEX Designated Cannabis Use Areas which opens nightly at 6:30 p.m. (See Attachment #2: StagEX Map)
At such other temporary locations as may be approved by way of written special permission of Exhibition Park (Chief Executive Officer) and there is no appeal of that decision.
At no time, is the consumption of cannabis permitted on the Whoop-Up Days midway or any other location on the grounds, with the exception of the above mentioned exceptions. Exhibition Park reserves the right to eject anyone who is in violation of this policy.
